How students in Years 7–13 can use Unifrog to plan their future

Unifrog is an award‑winning online careers and destinations platform that helps students explore their interests and make informed decisions about their next steps in education and training. It brings together information on every UK university course, apprenticeship, and college programme, as well as opportunities such as school leaver schemes, MOOCs, and international universities.

Because everything is in one place, students can easily compare pathways and discover what suits them best—whether that’s choosing GCSE subjects, looking at post‑16 qualifications, or planning for university, apprenticeships, or work after Year 13.  We encourage parents and carers to explore Unifrog alongside their child so they can be fully involved in supporting future decisions and understanding the pathways available.  All students in years 9 to 13 have an account, our students in year 7 & 8 will get accounts set up in the summer term.

How Unifrog supports students at each stage

Years 7–8: Exploring Interests Early

  • Begin building self-awareness using personality, interests, and skills quizzes.
  • Discover different careers and read real-life job profiles.
  • Start creating a record of achievements and activities to support future applications.

Year 9: Making GCSE/BTEC Option Choices

Unifrog helps students make confident decisions about their Year 9 GCSE/BTEC options by letting them:

  • Explore how different GCSE/BTEC subjects link to future careers and university courses.
  • Understand which subjects are essential or useful for specific pathways.
  • Compare career areas and see where their interests fit.

This helps students choose subjects they enjoy and that keep their future options open.

Years 10–11: Planning Post‑16 Pathways

As students start thinking about what to do after Year 11, Unifrog lets them:

  • Compare A levels, BTECs, T Levels, and vocational qualifications
  • Search local sixth forms, colleges, and apprenticeship providers
  • Build a CV and log work experience or volunteering
  • Research careers using Labour Market Information (LMI) to see salary, demand, and skills

This makes it easier to choose the right courses or training routes for post‑16 study.

Years 12–13: Preparing for Post‑18 Options

For students planning their next steps after Year 13, Unifrog provides:

  • Information on every UK university course, apprenticeship, and college programme.
  • Step‑by‑step support to write personal statements, UCAS applications, apprenticeship applications, and CVs.
  • Space to upload drafts, receive teacher feedback, and track progress.
