Year 7 Welcome Liturgy
We were delighted to come together to welcome our new Year 7 into the St Paul’s school community with a special Welcome Liturgy led by School Chaplain, Mrs Jones. Exploring the theme of ‘Belonging’ the liturgy opened with the offering of symbols representing the school including our school prayer, a lighted candle and a new plant symbolising the new beginning for our students. Each tutor group also offered their class paper chains which were linked together to symbolise the way in which we all come together as a school community. It was wonderful to see so many of the Year 7 pupils participating in the service, with readings, prayers and reflections. Mrs Harper, our Head of Music, led the new Year 7 choir in singing our school hymn ‘Servant King’ and we also enjoyed a lovely solo piano piece by Richard in 7R. A truly special occasion for our pupils and teaching staff alike.
