Pentecost
The Diocese of Westminster Education Department, we would like to wish you and your community a very happy Pentecost. This year, we have been continuing to promote equality and diversity in our Diocese and we hope that you will celebrate using this Pentecost Liturgy we have created for you.
We would like to thank St Monica’s Primary School in Enfield, All Saints Catholic College in Kensington and St Joan of Arc School in Hertfordshire for their contributions as well as Father Chris Vipers and Deacon Liam Lynch for celebrating and putting it all together. The recording can be found Diocese of Westminster Education Service Pentecost Liturgy and the translations of the prayers used are outlined below.
Pentecost Liturgy: Bidding Prayers
- Father, you created each one of us in your own image. We are your awesome creation and you love each one of us. Help us to remember that in our lives and in our interactions with each other. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
- Father, yours is a world made glorious by its rich diversity. Help us to celebrate our differences and learn from them so together we can build a better world. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
- 3.Father, we are sorry for when we mistreat, judge or are fearful of people who we think are different. Help us to reach out beyond our own communities and to recognise that everyone is your child. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
- Father, you are a just God. Give us the courage to offer refuge to those in need, challenge prejudice and seek justice for all.
- We join now with our heavenly mother Mary in saying: Hail Mary…
