Lenten Fundraising 2023
During the period of Lent, the community of St Paul’s Catholic College comes together to give alms by fundraising for a charity. In 2022 our community managed to raise a fantastic £27 000 for the Red Cross’ Ukranian Crisis Appeal.
This Lent the student committee has selected the CAFOD Turkey-Syria Earthquake appeal.
There are two main fundraising activities:
The first is the annual Sponsored Walk which is due to be held on Friday 24th March. The walk is approximately 5km – students are asked to collect sponsorship from friends and family and encouraged to wear fancy dress. Students will be given letters and sponsorship forms with more information over the next week.
We ask that parents help by supporting their child in collecting sponsorship, collecting the money after the walk and paying it via Wisepay into the charity’s link.
The second fundraising opportunity is held between the 20th and the 31st March. Each tutor group will run activities at break/lunch and after school such as; bake sales, a staff football match, ice lolly sales, a ‘funfair’ with games and activities, face painting and many other activities. More specific information of what is on will be on our school social media pages.
As the school is cashless, parents will be able to buy tokens on Wisepay. The value of each token is 50p, and the tokens will be given out in multiples of £2, £5 or £10. An extra 10p will be added to the cost of the tokens you purchase in order to cover the fee charged by Wisepay. The tokens will be available to purchase from Monday 13th March. Lost/unused tokens are non-refundable and it is the students responsibility to look after them.
Students can then use these tokens to access the activities of their choice between 20th and 31st March. The first delivery of purchased tokens will be to students in tutor time on Monday 20th March, and then every 2 school days after that for tokens purchased after 16th March.
I would like to thank you in advance for helping us live out our school motto of service to others.
If you have any questions please do not hesitiate to get in contact.
