District Cross Country Championships
On Wednesday 27th November, the District Cross Country Championships were held at Laleham Park. In a wet and muddy event, St Paul's put in a very strong account of their sporting prowess and competed on all fronts.
First to take part were the Year 7s who were all very eager to show what they could do, and they did not disappoint, with the Year 7 girls finishing 2nd overall whilst the boys went one better, finishing 1st for their year group.
Next were the Year 8s who both placed well with girls and boys finishing 3rd in the district.
It was then Year 9s turn in the competition. Both boys and girls groups did well with the girls finishing 3rd overall and the boys doing slightly better and finishing in 1st place with Aaron S-H winning his race.
Last were the Year 10s where both girls and boys teams finished 2nd. This meant that the girls finished with a combined score for Years 7 -10 of 348 which placed them 2nd, whilst the boys finished with a score of 244 and came in 1st (winning by 1 point over Magna Carta)!
All of the scores were combined and St Paul's finished the whole Championship in 2nd place! This is a superb achievement for the pupils and school and is our best finish in many, many years! Congratulations to pupils for their drive, determination and effort in horrible conditions.
