St Paul's Catholic College Providing Education For The Diocese Of Westminster
Bloodwise Charity Donation
On Thursday 28th February, St Paul’s was delighted to present Nicci Wilson from Bloodwise with a cheque for £2201.40 in a small ceremony held at the school. Bloodwise is a UK based charity dedicated to funding research into all blood cancers and was nominated to be our chosen Advent charity last year by Megan Da Silva in Year 13. Bloodwise became an extremely important charity to Megan and her family after her father was diagnosed with myeloma (a form of blood cancer), and was an invaluable source of help and support during his treatment. Through proceeds from ticket sales to the Staff Panto and the tremendous fundraising efforts from our students, raising money through bake sales, sponsored silences and many more activities, we were delighted to raise such a huge sum for this very worthwhile cause. After the presentation, two of our Year 7 students had an opportunity to interview Nicci about the work Bloodwise undertake which will feature in the next issue of the school newsletter – The Epistle.
