St Paul's Catholic College Providing Education For The Diocese Of Westminster
On Monday 17th December we held our annual Advent Liturgy at St Paul’s and were delighted to see so many in attendance with representatives from the Deanery as well as governors, parents, staff and family members. The celebration took us through the journey from the Annunciation through to the prophecy that the Prophet Isaiah spoke of thousands of years earlier. It was a beautiful and prayerful event with student readings, musical performances from our Student and Staff Choirs, together with ballet and Bollywood dancing! Each department was given the opportunity to take part and all have really excelled themselves during this busy time of year in contributing and making it such a thought-provoking liturgy. Thanks go to staff and students alike for their time and dedication, and particularly to our Premises Team who faithfully serve our school community. We also extend our thanks to Pauline Brown from Sunbury-on-Stems who gives up her valuable time to help our Year 9 students to create the School Advent wreath. A special mention also goes to Christina in Year 9 and her mother. Christina has generously foregone a Christmas present so that she could provide the funds for the refreshments at the liturgy and donate to Bloodwise.
Advent is the liturgical season of waiting and preparing our hearts for the coming of Jesus and we hope that this liturgy has inspired consideration to the true meaning of Christmas. We wish everyone a happy and holy Christmas.
